There is an emotional reaction that glass and other materials have when juxtaposed together.  Ice, metal, concrete, money, time, sugar, etc. connote memories and feelings in all of us. With culture, the meaning of these materials changes.

I create simple social narratives composed of the everyday objects that surround us... sometimes in combination with handblown glass.  In my art, cultural semiotics and slang terms transform the traditional meaning of icons and symbols into comparative concepts by stringing together related objects into "visual sentences" or ethereal environments regarding architecture and the self. I am currently exploring ephemeral installations in which ideals and convention are deconstructed.
