Ginnie obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Painting and Drawing) from the Ohio State University in 1999 and her MFA (Painting and Printmaking) from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003. She has since returned to Columbus, making art and teaching painting, drawing and art history at The Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College. Her work has been shown locally and nationally including exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles and Richmond, VA. Ginnie is also a member of the Couchfire Collective.
Ginnie's work is a hybrid of playfulness and longing. Experimenting with pop/craft materials, such as glitter, she works to push them past the associations we may have into other arenas. She is interested in the inherent capabilities of painting and drawing materials. Much of her current work is an investigation and celebration of non-objective and/or natural forms and the possibilities held within.
