Artist Statement

My recent work examines memory, misunderstanding, and desire in childhood. Beginning with the notion that childhood is a time of instability between experience and thought, I am interested in how meaning shifts as children learn new points of connection between objects, places, and situations, leading to bizarre narratives. Through a variety of mediums including video, 3D modeling, installation, and drawing, I depict remembered architecture and situations from my past as I bring together information from my own memories, found photographs, internet searches, and recorded footage in playful attempts at using the personal to address what are possibly universal notions of perception.
