Cohesive show celebrates Ohio’s best in photography, videography
Contemplation and introspection are the operative words for “Image Ohio 9.” Presented at the Shot Tower Gallery in collaboration with Roy G Biv Gallery, the annual competitive exhibition celebrates the photographic arts in Ohio. The show — judged by Paula Tognarelli, executive director and curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Mass. — is remarkably cohesive and seamlessly organized. Thoughtfully selected, and representing a compelling mix of photographic techniques and video projections, the exhibit marks one of the best “Image Ohio” offerings to date.
Each of the 38 artists has a different message. Some images are documentary and traditional, while others are experimental or manipulated. Time as an irresistible force is evident in almost every piece.
